Prairie Dog Update April 2, 2008

Just a quick upadate… I have counted three of the prairie dogs now. I think that is all there are at this time. They come out everday and forage for grasses… or anything I might have left out for them. So far they like orange pulp, vegetable pulp (from my juicer), celery centers, lettuce, carrots and spinich. I’ll set out a wedge of tomato, and some cucumber for them too, and see if they like that. But I am aware that they are best to stick with grasses. I wouldn’t want them to become dependent upon me… I want them to continue foraging. I will allow a patch of wild grass to grow, where I had been pulling it up, every month or so. What I set out for them, only comes every few days. More photos soon.
